Charles and brother Moses PERRY settled with their families in Sierraville, Sierra County, around the 1880's. They originated in St. Louis, MO and were of French descent, sons of Jean PERRA and Theresa MARECHAL.

I am also looking for anyone with access to a book by James Miller Guinn, HISTORY OF CALIFORNIA AND BIOGRAPHICAL RECORD OF THE SIERRAS, pg. 767 on Charles PERRY.

Looking for any information on ancestry of g-grandfather Franklin Perry born in Sierraville in 1870 to Moses and Elizabeth Perry. Frank was a lumbermill man who moved to San Francisco in the early 1890's.

I don't know if you're still on ancestry.com, but we're distantly related. Moses Perry was my great grandfather. His son George Alexandar Perry (Frank's little brother) was my grandfather.

I've got tons of ancestry info on Moses, and get this... I even have a picture of Old Mose himself! Send me a message if you're still on ancestry.com and I'll fill you in with details.

Wow, what a suprise, I think that makes us 2nd cousins once removed. I too dug up a lot going back to around 1600 in France, but haven't done anything in years for lack of time. Would love to share. Most of what I found was just names and dates online, but I do have a neat bio of Moses' brother Charles out of a book. You can get me at stonekopp@yahoo.com.
