We are searching for information on Allen TRIMBLE, John TRIMBLE, John M. HINDS, Sylvester B. HINDS and Harry GOTT of Beckwourth (Beckwith), Loyalton, or Sierraville. The years are 1820 to 1910. Harry GOTT owned Bassets Station at one time. The TRIMBLES were farmers in Clover Valley. Any information about their family relationships would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. I just stumbled across your 2000 posting. I'm trying to connect the name Trimble with Sharkey coming out of Ireland (Roscommon area). If you have anything linking these two names, I'd appreciate hearing about it either on this board or a direct e-mail. Thanks much.

Doug, I have not heard of these Sharkey's in Sierra Co CA. My g grandparents were Myles & Annie Sharkey and my grandparents were Tom & Sara Florence Sharkey. I haven't any info on the name Henderson as being linked to our Sharkey family. My family first came to Sierra Count in 1865 and some of the family still live there. Sorry I can't be of any help to you. Pat

Re LONG: Mary Norilla Long, daughter of William Long and married to Elias Hunt was my GG Grandmother. I believe Norilla was an aunt of my GG Grandmother; a cousin and myself are researching this line. Would love hearing from you.

I'm looking for My son Zyler Ridley's , grandmother Trimble's ancestors. She lives at 1312 Susan Circle and is the mother of Tab Arnson, who is my son's father. She also lived in San Luis Obispo. Arnson isn't Tab's Natural father's last name. He was from Elsalvador. Arnson is the last name of another spouse of Trimble. THANK YOU!!! I am almost positive that your Sharkey family is related to ours! I have been researching the Sharkey line in our family for over a decade, but searching for info on the west coast is very difficult when you live on the east coast, not to mention I have been out of commission for awhile and am finally trying to get back on track with my research. Here goes!
I KNEW my Sharkey family was from NY and some eventually ended up out in Yuba County,California, but also figured a relation to the Sierra county Sharkeys, especially when I saw that census info of Mary with the Henderson's; But with no other info, I wasn't able to make a connection. At one point I thought maybe it was the Myles Sharkey family. (Actually I think they are probably somehow related too). Anyway, When I saw this post, 2 things jumped off the page!
One was the Mary Sharkey in Sierra county California and the second was the name (Norilla); spelled Morrilla on the NY census with Sara (Snowden) Faxon: Daughter of Mary Sharky and I think it was William? Snowden. It has been a long and winding road but I am finally here!
My Sharkey family settled in Brooklyn,NY so besides Sierra and Yuba County CA, this family also has ties to ALbany, NY, Canada and probably MA as well.
Was hoping maybe you could help me connect the dots: Do you have any info on Elizabeth's Father / Mary's Husband?
If I am correct about being related, he will be the son of Cormick Sharkey b.1800 Ireland! Do you have the Maiden name of Elizabeth's mother: Mary Sharkey?
Haven't come across the name Morillo/Murillo.etc.. before or after that census info till now. Who can have that name- unless your families are somehow related? Can you tell me where it comes from? Someones maiden name?
PS: Do you know of any connection to a Hugh Sharkey?
