I am somewhat late in responding to this query but I have anecdotal only info that my ggfather, Michael Sinnott, was at Goodyear's Bar in the early 1850s. I am not even sure at this point where I derived this info. If I find anything more on the early mining days names, I will contact you. I have scanned one book I have that does list some names. It is written by James Sinnott: Sierra City and Goodyears Bar. However, I have found no mention of either the Aalfs or Preston Ishmael names, nor of Michael Sinnott
