Gosh, it's been a long time since I researched this family. Could you please write to me at donna_stapp@sbcglobal.net
I was interested in George W Maynard and Elizabeth Hays. Sylvania (or Baney, I think her nickname was) and Elizabeth were sisters. At one time I heard that Lewis Shores had been an early wagontrain master.
The Maynard boys, Claude, Cleve and Clyde would have been first cousins to Charity Hays and I recall she married a man (Thomas?) Hart, I know his last name was Hart and it seems he was from Ft Jones, Siskiyou is the county above where I live in Shasta county.
My connection is: George and Eliz Hays Maynard were in Shasta county circa 1896, they started out from Franklin County, Ark to Washington, then to Oregon and then to Round Mountain, CA (Shasta county) One of their sons was Cleve Maynard and he married Lucy Wertz, they had Gladys Maynard (1919) who was my son's grandmother.
Please write to me at donna_stapp@sbcglobal.net and give me some time to drag out my information. I am thrilled to hear from you.
