MRS. MARY LEAR SUCCUMBS AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Succumbing to an illness that had kept her bedridden since January, Mrs. Mary Levena LEAR, resident of Santa Cruz for a number of years, died late last night at her home, 64 Parnell avenue. She was 66 years of age and a native of Missouri.
Mrs. Lear was an active worker in the P.T.A. and an ardent worker in church work, belonging to the First Christian church.
She is survived by her husband, Edmund J. Lear; three daughters, Mrs. Bessie Rasch of San Francisco, Mrs. Sarah Fisher of Santa Cruz, and Mrs. Mary Omstead of Richmond.
Five sons, Edmund, J.G., Leslie, and Charles LEAR of Santa Cruz and Arthur LEAR of Berkeley survive in addition to 13 grandchildren.
All the children were at the bedside when Mrs. Lear passed away.
The body was removed to White's Mortuary and funeral arrangements are pending.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Levena LEAR will be held on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the chapel of the White Mortuary.
Interment will be at the Oakwood Cemetery in the family plot.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary LEAR were held at 2 p.m. yesterday from White's chapel with Rev. V.K. Allison officiating. Mrs. John Hadfield and Mrs. T. Briton sang "The Riches of His Grace" and "Infinite Love and Wisdom". Interment was in the family plot in Oakwood cemetery.
Pallbearers were J.E. Moon, J.F. Strong, Ernest A. Strong, A. L. Delano, C.E. Smith and Gene Brookshire.
