San Jose Mercury News or San Francisco Chronicle for obituaries?

Surnames: LeSchofs Roehm
My great-aunt Elizabeth Roehm LeSchofs died in Mountain View, Santa Clara, California in 1991.

Which newspaper would be my best bet for finding her obituary?

I'm requesting a lookup from the Santa Clara County Library and it's $20 per obituary per newspaper so I need to get the newspaper correct.

Thank You

San Jose Mercury News is the best bet.

Santa Clara County Historical and Genealogical Society quotes $10 for a obit lookup. They are based out of the Santa Clara City library.

Thanks so much for the info, it'll help a lot.

I don't think that Paul Roehm must be from a different branch of the family, I don't think we're related. Most of the Roehm's I'm related to are from the east coast around Delaware.

Thanks again!

Mountain View obits in other newspapers

You can also try the Mt. View History Center. They have some obits online. Or contact them to look up all the smaller newspapers. You should also look in the Palo Alto Daily (Times) which also covers Mt. View obits.

And the Mountain View Voice (Sister newspaper is the Palo Alto Weekly). (The Palo Alto Library might keep back copies of these smaller newspapers.)

Hope this helps,
