If anyone has access to the cemetery records or the OBIT records, my great-uncle Murrell (or Mirl) Jobe, died in Milpitas, Santa Clara, CA on January 1, 1979. I would love to have a copy of his obit. However, if I could just find out what CEMETERY he is in, I would really appreciate the help. So far, I have been unsuccessful in my quest to find where he is buried and thought, perhaps, that someone on this board could be of help. Thank you so much. RJ

I live in Milpitas, which is not the biggest city in California, hence there is no "active" cemetery in town, with the exception of a few small old-time pioneer graveyards. (In short, Milpitans are buried in our neighboring cities). This is just a stretch guess, but if your great-uncle was buried locally, then there's a good chance you may find him here: Cedar Lawn Memorial Cemetery, 48800 Warm Springs Blvd, Fremont, California, 94539. Why don't you send them a letter with your request, and please let me know how it pans out. Also, if he is in fact buried there, I'd be happy to take a photo of his stone for you as its just a few minutes up the road from where I live. Good Luck!!! Bob.

Here is a general description of your great-uncle: Mirl, son of Luther D. Jobe/Bittle and Datia 'Docie' Sherwood, was born Decmeber 29, 1906 probably Randolph Co., Arkansas and died January 1, 1979 Milpitas, Santa Clara, CA. He married Fannie Duty.
