Looking for info on a family that lived in Santa Clara in 1952. Gloria Frausto(maiden name) Kong, married a Alvin Kong. Alvin was in the US Army. Alvin was born 1935 in Hawaii, while Gloria was born 1933 in San Bernardino, Ca. I believe that Alvin and Gloria may have married in Santa Clara. Gloria's oldest son, Steve was born in 1952 in Santa Clara, Ca. Steve has the last name; "Kong", but I was told that Steve may have been adopted by Alvin Kong....so, if anyone can do or is willing to do a look-up of marriages around or about 1950-1952 on a Alvin Kong marrying a lady named Gloria Rose Frausto, which it is believe that Gloria may have been married before she married Alvin Kong.

I checked the early marriage index (starting in 1949) and found no marriage of Alvin Kong or Gloria Frausto, however, in 1949 there was one Rose Frausto who married a Belebino Garcia, 1/2/1949. Don't know if this is your Gloria or not.

It could be her. I remember when I was young that there was mention of Gloria Rose Frausto as having children, 2 of them, before she married Alvin Kong. I don't know if she had them out of wed-lock, but Gloria's children said that Alvin was their Step-Father. Not sure how much truth there is in that. Where did this marriage of Rose Frausto and B. Garcia take place? Santa Clara, SanFran?

I do know that Alvin Kong enlisted in the Army in Dec of 1952. According to the Birth of Steve Kong, he was born Sept of 1952, then Roseanne Kong followed in 3 Sept 1954 being born in Fresno. So, that leaves the possiblity that Alvin Kong who was Hawaiian and Chinese and Gloria Frausto, who was Mexican could have been married in Fresno, California, the only other possiblity is that Alvin and Gloria were married in San Diego, Ca......boy I just love these mysteries and "closet keeping" secrets in family lines. makes my research difficult at times.

A big thank you for looking that up for me. Guess I'll have to try the Fresno County board for a possible marriage look-up.

Unfortunately, these charts are very hard to read, I'm not able to read the catagories at the top so am not sure about the county. Numbers are indexed next to each marriage. The date is not hard to figure out but the other numbers escape me. 43 is one of the numbers that is listed next to the date and if it means anything, 43 is the number for Santa Clara Co. This could be where they married but not sure.

Elaine, their marrige was found to be in San Diego in 1960......Alvin kong was 25 and Gloria Frausto was 28 at the time. So, that means that Steve Kong and Rosanne or Roseanne Kong were evidently adopted by Alvin Kong....so the question remains, Who was Gloria Rose Frausto married to before she married Alvin Kong. I do know that Gloria Frausto's first child Steve, was born 22 Sept 1952 in Santa Clara, but who his father was remains a mystery......There was a Rose Frausto who was born in Santa Clara, but Gloria Frausto would have been about 19 when she her 1st child in Santa Clara, so by the process of elimination and a good guess, I would say that Gloria Rose Frausto probably married when she was 17 or 18, with 18 being the age to focus on.....Gloria Rose Frausto was born in San Bernardino County on 15 April 1933, she is the only one with that name born in that year in California. I know that her mother later moved to Fresno, and I also know that Gloria Frausto was in Fresno, California in 1954, because that is when her daughter Roseanne was born, 3 Sept 1954......and I now know that Gloria was in San Diego, Ca in 1960....so my areas to search are still the same, Santa Clara, Fresno and San Diego.

I want to thank you for help. you have been very helpful Maybe you can come up with a marriage between Gloria Frausto and someone other than Alivin Kong, probably, atleast my guess would be about 1950 or 1951.

Thats Okay, Elaine. You helped me nay way. Now I know where not look. This family line has alot of Skeletons in it closets. Seems they have a lot hide.....makes my job a little complicated, but inyeresting. Again, thank you. U did help.
