The REDFORD family can be found on Ancestry.com Research on Rose and her family has been done by her great grandson, Scott LOWRIE SEARS who had the following obit. No obit for her in the San Mateo Times which was searched thru the 14th. Thank you Scott and Chris for the lookups and sharing.

Her date of death was April 8, 1959. I am not sure
which paper this was from, but I assume from the Denver
Post:

Obit of Mrs. Rose R. Lowrie who died April 8, 1959.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rose LOWRIE, whose husband
donated the Sunken Gardens near West High School to
Denver, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Olingers Mortuary,
Magnolia St. Burial will be in Fairmount.

Mrs. LOWRIE died Wednesday in San Mateo, Calif. She was 100.

Born in Bardstown, Ky., Dec 28, 1858, she was educated
in Nashville. In 1883, she married Harold W. LOWRIE,
who died in 1940. Mr. LOWRIE was a widely known
attorney in Denver.

Mrs. LOWRIE's uncle, Charles WICKLIFFE, was the first
postmaster general of the U.S.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Ed ARNOLD of San
Mateo, Mrs. Mason SEARS of Houston, Mrs. Mary Louis
RULIEN and Mrs. Seved LINDMARK of San Gabriel, and Mrs.
Russell FORBES of Los Angeles."
