A neighbor picked up a little award she found in the trash which says:

Public Schools of San Francisco
Friday, ?? 14, 1896
Mabel Wheaton receives this Reward Of Merit for attention to lessons
and for good conduct during the past week.

I have checked the 1900 census and am pretty sure she was living
with the Edward B. Culter family at 2810 Washington Street, San
Francisco; she was 21 years old, and his niece.

In 1880 there was a Mable, age 2, listed as daughter of Henry B.
and Caroline Wheaton in Alameda.

If anyone is interested in/related to this Wheaton family, I would like to give you this little award.
