Dear Kathy:

I am a Von Haegan descendant.

My second Great Grandfather was John Joseph Von Haegan.
He was born 23 July 1827, Prussia. Immigrated to Wisconsin, where he married in Dodge County, 1854. Also lived in Minnesota. He moved with his wife and children to in SF. circa 1876. John died in San Francisco 1883.

Parents believed to be Heinrich and Gertrude Von Haegan of Prussia.

John is enumerated in the 1880 Census with the spelling
Haegen:

Source Information: 1880 United States Census
Census Place San Francisco, San Francisco, California
Family History Library Film 1254077
NA Film Number T9-0077
Page Number 347D

possible spellings: Von Haegan, Von Haegen, Haegan, Haegen, Hagen, Hagan, etc.

For Hagen/Hagan, I seem to run into a bunch of Irish lines.

Could we possibly be cousins???? I have searched for other
Von Haegan descendants for eons. You are the first that I have seen mention the surname. Let's compare notes.

Lauren
