William F. Phillips was born in NYC on November 12, 1885.
According to ancestry.com SSDI he died on May ?, 1974 in Sacramento, Sacramento Co., CA. Normally I can use the CA death index to find mothers maiden name. I have not been able to with Willliam for some reason.
William was married to Ellen "Nellie/Nettie" Hooper in 1914 in NYC. She may have died about 1968 in NY. William and Ellen had two daughters; Rita b. 1916 and Helen/Ellen "Nellie" b. 1919. William may have died in CA as a result of moving closer to one of the daughters?

I would like to find out who William's parents were and why he was in CA. Can someone please try to find William on the CA death index for me so that I can get his mothers maiden name?
