I suppose this is a long shot, but with your Perkins name, I have been pouring thru the 1800-1941 Indiana marriage collection, and found:

Sarah L. McDaniel m. John Bass, 18 Jan 1865 Gibson county
Sarah L. Bass m. Wm. L. Utley 23 June 1869 Gibson County
Sarah L. Utley m. James Perkins 13 Oct 1873, Vanderburgh Co.
Sarah Perkins m. CT Starr 16 Sept 1880.

I know she only admitted to being married twice on the 1910 census, but maybe she "forgot" the other 2 times?
