I am distantly related to the Gorvin family.

They were originally from Braunton in Devon England, moved to Neath, Wales in 1860s them emigrated to Lake Harvey & Burrton in Kansas in the 1870s.

The children then moved to the LA area in the 1930s.

If anyone has any information on Gorvins living in the LA area with British ancestors please get in touch

I'm a Gorvin and I think we may have common ancestors.

My great grandfather, William Gorvin, was born in Braunton in 1834 and moved to South Wales. He had a brother Edwin Gorvin who was born in about 1828 who moved from Braunton to Neath and later to Kansas, USA. I think he had 4 children ie Edwin b 1858, Charles b 1860, Henrietta M. B 1864 and Sophia E. b 1870. I believe that Sophia was unmarried and living in Long Beach, LA, in 1930. Hope this helps.
