Amos Browning was my father's oldest brother. I can't answer all your questions, but I know someone, who can, my niece Linda Ruble, I will Email her, and ask permission to give out her address. He raised his family in Atlanta Ga. I can't remember his wife's name or his children. They had three children two girls and on boy. He always work as a car saleman. He came to visit about once a year. His wife didn't come with him each time. He usually stayed with one of his sisters in Okeechobee each year. He had three sisters who lived in that area. Lee woods, Elizabeth Snodgrass and Willie Whidden. All of his siblings are dead. Aunt Willie was the last one and she was almost 90 yoa. She was the first certified female Deputy sheriff in the whole state of florida. Amos was the oldest of 10 children. 4 males and 6 girls. My father was Noah Edward Browning. We were raised on GrandPa Joshua Browning's homestead in Venus, Fl. He moved the family there in 1910, when my father was 10yoa. That was part of Desota Co, until 1927. uncle Amos served in WWI and Linda has a copy of a Christmas menu from the Army, that Uncle Amos sent to Aunt Sue Matchett(another sister) Joshua Browning the father was married and was widowed with one male child when he married Miriam Allbritton, she was also widowed with a male child, William North. Joshua died in 1918 of influenza. He had dark arburn hair that sparked in the sun.
My name is Mary Frances Browning Henderson
I Live in Lehigh Acres, Florida and I'm divorced for many years. I work at the Sheriff's Office in Lee County.
My home # is 941/368-2950

I just caught this message board and I see that it's really old. Linda Ruble is my Aunt. Her brother Herman is my father. I've been trying to figure out where we all came from, but this family is so big it seems impossible. I have gotten as far back as Noah Browning in the late 1800's. Can you shed any light for me?
