John McGuire's wedding certificate says he married Zillah Rhosed on April 29, 1887 in Orange, Los Angeles County, CA. At that time, the city of Orange was the township of Richmonds, and Orande County was L.A. County. The license also says that John was born in Orange in 1864, but records didn't start until 1866, so I can't find him there. He is also not on the census. Zillah was from Lousianna, born before November 1866. I need help tracking their beginnings. The McGuires eventually moved to Signal Hill and were in the oil industry. They may have come because of gold mining opportunities and may have had a mining background. That would mean they showed up right after the goldrush. Help appreciated.
