I am trying to find an obituary for my aunt, Crystal (Ferguson) Duncan. According to the California Death Index, and the SSDI, she died in Grass Valley. I'm not sure what she was doing in that part of California! She had been living in Fallon, Nevada at the time of my uncle's death (Eugene E. Duncan d. 17 Jul 1973) and I'm guessing she moved to Grass Valley sometime thereafter.

I appreciate any help someone can give me.

Following is the wording in the obituary of your aunt, Crystal (Ferguson) Duncan, wife of Eugene E. Duncan:

Crystal Duncan

Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. for Crystal Duncan, a two-year Grass Valley resident who died Monday in a local medical facility. She was 68.
A native of Indiana, she was born November 2, 1910. Widowed, Mrs. Duncan had moved to the local area from San Jose in 1977.
Survivors include a daughter, Lois Spence of San Jose; a sister, June Norford of Sepulveda; and three grandchildren.
Thursday's services will be held in the chapel of Bergemann and Son Mortuary, Nevada City, with the Rev. Robert L. Roy of the First Baptist Church of Grass Valley officiating.

I was really hoping the obituary would name the grandchildren (especially since it mentions 3, and I only know of 2!). Oh well...

Perhaps you could obtain information from the surviving family members who were listed.

Or maybe Hooper & Weaver Mortuary might have records of who paid for the services or the names of more family members. I know the obituary listed Bergemann and Sons, but they have been out of business here for quite some time. Hooper & Weaver Mortuary is now located in the building which originally housed Bergemann and Sons, and therefore may have the records.
