I am searching fot information on the following who left North Carolina in Spring of 1870 heading west and appear in California in the 1880 census in Napa County in Yountville, They are Jesse Lee Minton (b.1828 NC) and wife Elizabeth Almira "Mira" Cottrell Curtis Minton (b.1814 NC) along with Children of Mira's first marrige Susannah Curtis Church Potts who married Calvin Church (b.1833 NC)in NC then later JH Potts in California, and Lousia "Eliza" Curtis Burkett (b.1845 NC) who married Christian Burkett(b.1834) in NC about 1869.

Susannah Curtis Church Potts (b.1842) children
from her first marriage to Calvin Church (b.1833 NC) are
Carrie V Church (b.1861 NC)
Flora Belle Church (b.1866)
and from the marriage to JH Potts
Edith Potts (b.1879 Cal),
Myra Elizabeth Potts (b.1874 Cal)
Susie C Potts (b.1886 Cal).

Louisa Curtis Burkett(b.1845 NC) and husband Christian Burkett(b.1834) children are
Lillie May Burkett (b.1870)
Ora Gertrude Burkett (b.1874)
William Lee Burkett (b.1877)
Christian Edward Burkett (b.1880)

any births before 1870 are in NC. It is known they all were in Missouri in 1870 due to the birth of Lillie May Burkett (b.1870) listed as Missouri. The family after the death of Jesse Lee Minton and his wife Elizabeth Almira "Mira" Minton sometime in the late 1890's and early 1900's left and moved to the San Francisco are to work as dress makers and clerks in various businesses.
One individual Christian Edward Burkett is known to have moved north to Washington State area.

any information someone could provide would be helpful. I am attempting to find descendants of this family. Also Jesse Minton and Mira Minton are known to have dies in the Yountville, Napa County area. All the information I have is from census, birth and death records and family stories. I am hoping to find why they left and if any descendants are alive.

I am a volunteer at the Napa County Genealogy Library and found at Jesse Minton in the Great Register; he registered in 1880, 1888, 1892. In 1880 he was in Yount district, and in last two registers, St. Helena.

No death or burial information found.
