Thank You Gary so much.
I will let you know when we are coming, we will leave Bishop, early in the morning of the day we come. I will let you know when we expect to be there since our cell phones don't work in that area.

I am actually looking for one of the Lancaster Brothers. It seams John F. Lancaster, and brother Morris Lancaster got in a water fight in the Mason Valley, and Morris killed John. He ran to his brothers house in Coleville, and his brother talked him in to going home, and turning himself in to the local sheriff which he did.

We believe it was brother Isaac's house he ran to, and we are trying to find out where that would have been. We are looking for any "Lancaster's" in the little cemetery.

See Newspaper artical enclosed:

Esmeralda Harold, 9 Aug. 1879
Aurora, NV
"FRATRASIDE"
Morris Lancaster who shot and killed his brother John Lancaster, at the latter's place in Mason Valley on Saturday last. arrived here Thursday morning in charge of Constable H. C. Wilson and was lodged in jail. After the shooting took pace, Morris went to another brother's ranch in Antelope Valley, and told him what had occured. His brother did not believe hm an d, thinking Morris's mind was wandering, persuaded him to return too Mason Valley. Constable Wilson, learned Lancaster had returned tothe valley, went down to his father's house to arrest him. which he had no truble in doing as he made no resistance. The prisoner is subject to "FITS" and has had one since his arrival here. He will be held to await the action of the Grand Jury. An account of the shooting is given by the Virginia Chronical, as follows:

WHAT CAUSED THE SHOOTING
A gentlemen who came in from Mason Valley yesterday informs the Cronical ofteh corcmstances of the tragidy as followes: John Lancaster owned a farm adjoining his father's, both farms being watered by the same ditch. John's grain was ripe enough to harvest, and he intended to begin heading it the next day, while the father's was not so far advanced, and required further watering to mature it. The water, if turned on, would wet both fields, and interfere or entirely prevent the harvessssting of the son's crop. Therefore he protested against it. Morris Lancaster, who was living with his father, said he would go over and see what he could do toward influencing John to let the water be turned on and defer his heading for a few days. When he arrived at John's house John in the presence of several hired men twitted him about having fits. and being regarded by the neighbors as at times absolutely insane saying,, "Look at him: he is crazy now." This so exasperated Morris that he used some terrible language in reply.

Going for his shotgun John then stepped into his house and brought out the shotgun. Firing was then begun on both sides. The hired men tried to prevent it, but were told by both brothers that if they did not get out of the way they would be shot at themselves. John discharged both barrels of his gun, with the result already mentioned. Then he beat his brother on the head with the gun, breaking the stock in several piecs. It was while this and close quarters that Morris inflicted the fatel shots wiht his revolver. The noise of the firing was heard in both farm houses, and the occupants came running and screaming to the scene. John never spoke after receiving his wounds.

A Coroner's jury summond to inquire into the cause of the killing, rendered a verdict of death at the hands of Morris Lancaster, who was declared tohave been not acting in necessary self-defense.
