Louis Williams, 85, of Pasture Road in Schurx, NV died on 18 Oct 1999 at the Washoe Medical Center in Reno, Washoe, NV.
He is a native of Bodie, CA and was born 1 Dec 1913, to Murphy and Mamie Jones Williams. He has lived in Schurz for many years, coming from Bodie. MR. Williams was a self employed farmer and rancher at his farm in Schurz.
During World War II he served with the US Army in the infantry and he was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Post in Hawthorne.
Mr. Williams is survived by his widow, Helen Williams of Schurz; eleven children; Gloria Williams, Claudia, NV, Lyle Williams, Wayne Williams, Sharon Henry, Loni Wahweah, Darrell Smokey and Willis Smokey, all of Schurz; Betty Flint and Fritz Smokey, both of Gardnerville, NV and Marlene Wahpah of Carson City, NV. He has eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren ; four brothers, Clarence Williams of Washoe Valley, NV, Everett Williams of Carson City, NV, Jack Williams of Hawthorne and Erin Williams of Fallon, NV and one sister, Dolores Birchum of Schurz.
Funeral services were held Saturday, 23 Oct 1999 at the Schurz Tribal Gymnasium with burial in the Schurz Indian Cemetery at Schurz.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in Yerington. nd 27 Oct 1999
