Unidentified family pictures need help

I know that my gggrandmother was married Rose Moore.
Her daughter Lucy Moore married George W Amy in Dec 1903/04.
They had 4 children, two boys and two girls. I know the outcome of the boys but haven't gotten a lot about the girls yet.
The first dtr was Kathleen Octavia Amy who married a Weyant.
The second was Patricia Elinor Amy who married a Minger.
I have several family pictures from my late grandmother's photo albums that I can't identify and wonder if there are any distant relatives that would recognize any of these people attached below.
To our knowledge all of these pictures would have been taken in the L.A. area of California.

Services for Ruth G Strickler, who died Aug. 16,1987, will be held graveside at the Davis Creek Cemetery, Davis Creek on Friday, Aug 21 at 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Strickler had spent over 30 years of her life as a school teacher in Modoc County. She was 99 years of age when she passed on in
Purshing General Hospital in Lovelock, Nev. She was born in Gordon, Neb. to Ida (Howard) and Robert Graham on May 13, 1888. She taught school in Colorado and in Modoc. She married Frank Strickler in Alturas in January of 1915, He preceded her in death in 1955 at Willow Ranch. After her husband's death, she moved to Lovelock, Nev. where she
had made her home untill her demise. Mrs. Strickler was a member of the California Retired Teachers Association and the Presbyterian Church.

She leaves a daughter, Frances Killfoil of Lovelock, Nev.; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

I am seeking info on my great-great grandmother. Family history has her as Modoc (Native American). We know her children all had the last name of Moore so we assume she married a Moore. I found a 1900 census with her info listed on it and it says she is divorced. That she had 9 children but only 6 were living at that time. She was living in L.A. Co then but our family has always said she came from Clear Lake in Modoc Co.
Her birth was reportedly Dec 1854.
Her living children in 1900 that we know of are Birdie/Berdina who married Cahn/Conn and then Allen, Charles, Lucy who married Amy/Amey and Jenny.
Any help would be great.

My GGGGrandfather, Stephen Oliver, was killed there on his way to the Gold Rush.

Thomas Marion Harvey was born in Bates County, MO, on 2-17-1849 and died in Modoc County, CA, on 10-2-1921. His wife, Mary Jane (Southard) Harvey was born in Missouri in 1850. The Harveys lived in Adin-Lookout, Modoc County, CA, as of the 1920 census. Where and when did Mary Jane die? Perhaps Thomas and Mary Jane are buried in or near Adin Township. A photo image of their tombstone or info about Mary Jane's death would be greatly appreciated.

I am searching for information on John H Hurley. I have found a land patent where he had land there in 1879. In 1880 I found his wife living in Missouri with their children and was a widow. He must have passed away in the months between Nov 1879 and later in 1880. This has been a dead end for quite some time.
If anyone can find an obituary or any information I would appreciate it. His wife was Eliza Hurley. He is listed usually as John H or J H Hurley.

William HOWE family 1890-1900 in Modoc

William Howe d Jan 4, 1893 in Alturas, Modoc Co California . He was b 1831 in Canada but had lived in Polk and Jackson Co OR. In 1880 he was listed as a minister.

His son Washington Lincoln Howe b 1864 OR is found in Modoc Co on 1900 census (in index he is listed as "Nash" Howe) working as laborer. On the same census is a Clarence Howe b 1885 but I do not know how or if he is related. Washington Howe d in 1949 in Tehama Co. CA

Another son , George M Howe may have also lived in Modoc Co. He was a lumberman in Washington later.

Monroe was born in 1858 or 1859 in Allegan County, Michigan. I have information that he died in 1928, but don't know where. His wife Fannie was born in 1870 and died in 1947. Modoc pioneer families

Am looking for the above families from Modoc and Lassen Counties. I have lots on the ancestors of the Fulchers and Browns, but am stuck on Catherine Ann Wheeler Brown. She is buried in Lookout, Modoc Co. She married Hiram S. Brown. Among their five children is Claude R. Brown who m. Alice Grace Fulcher. Hiram's first wife was Martha Gordon with whom he had several chhildren. There are several Wheelers list in the 1885 Directory of Modoc County. The two that are in Loolout are John and Nathan D. Both are listed as farmers. I will share what I have with anyone that is interested.

Luther was a clerk, freighter, and rancher .Unsure when Luther arrived in the area. 1871 puts him at San Jose; he is registered as one of the first voters in 1874 Modoc County registry while at Camp Bidwell. I am looking for information about my father, John O'Malley. He may have been married in Adin, Modoc Co., in the 1925-1935 time frame. Or he may have just had a good time there...there are photos of "the storekeeper's daughter" and the "right handy church" in his old photo albums. He worked out of the Redding area, and may have worked in Shasta and Modoc Counties on survey parties for State of California. He was married, but divorced at a young age in the area mentioned.

I am researching my great aunt, Lucille Edna Neff Vernon b. 1895 in IN d. 1966 in Modoc County. All I have so far are some notes from my mother and the index from the CADI. My mom says Lucille married several times, the last being to a D. E. VERNON, perhaps a sheriff in Alturos, Modoc County. Lucille was raising my mother's half brother, Gerald "Jerry" Mann, who may have gone by one of Lucille's surnames. This is all I know, but I have lots of information on Lucille's family and am most happy to share it.

Mildred Leona Waite died in Woodland, Sunday, Sept. 26 at age 90.

Mrs. Waite was born Dec. 6, 1913 in Adin and had been a Yolo County resident for more than 55 years. She assisted her husband, Stuart, when he ran the Yolo County Fair for 25 years. The fair board dedicated Waite Hall on the fairgrounds in appreciation of their efforts.

Survivors include Mrs. Waite's grandson Corey Addison Waite and his wife Victoria, her daughter-in-law Bonni Waite and her great-granddaughters Sarah Sawyer Waite and Emerson Colby Waite. She was preceded in death by her husband Stuart Bruce Waite and son Stuart Bruce Waite, Jr.

Donations in Mrs. Waite's memory can be made to The Association for Macular Diseases, Inc., 210 East 64th Street, 8th Floor, New York, N.Y. 10021.

Obituary For Alice (Hall) Trumbo.
Alice Trumbo, 79, Called By Death

Mrs. Alice Trumbo passed away in the Modoc Medical Center Monday, November 30 at the age of 79 years. She had been confined to her bed for several weeks.
Alice Trumbo, who was born in Pennsylvania, moved to Alturas with her family at the age of four years. She resided on ranch near this city until 1943 when the property was sold and she with her late husband, Spencer Trumbo moved to this city. Mr. Trumbo died in 1959.
The deceased, whose maiden name was Hall, was the last survivor of a family of eight children, all of whom were know in this area.
She was a member of the Eastern Star and Rebekah lodges and the Episcopal church.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 o'clock p.m. from the Kerr chapel.

I am looking for a photo of either her or her husband and possibly both together. If anything else is out there in reference to this couple, please respond.

I am searching for information on William C. Marts born in Ohio about 1848 or 1849, He is in Modoc co., California in 1880, on the census as a stock raiser, living in the household of Larkin W. Carr.

He went to California sometime after April of 1872 as this is when Rachel Kulb conceived.

Rchel and the child stayed here, it seems William may have been avoiding her father as he a nd Rachel were never married. Of course all of this is conjecture...

at 9:45 p.m., Monday, May 14, 1941 at a local hospital following an extended illness. Death was attributed to a kidney ailment. Trumbo had worked for a number of years
In Billings as a tree Surgeon and landscaper.

He was born Feb. I6, 1888, at Alturas, Cal., a son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew F. Trumbo He was married to Miss Grace Selleck Feb. 23, 1912, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. C. W. - Selleck of rout. 1, at Big Timber.
He had resided In Montana 15 years. most of which were spent in Billings and Bridger. Survivors besides his widow and two Sons. Charles F. Trumbo of 314 North Twenty-fourth street and Don Trumbo of 318 Miles avenue; daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Saunders of 2716 North Seventeenth street: a brother, William Spencer Trumbo of Alturas; two sisters, Mrs. George Fitzpatrlck of Alturas; Mr. Mrs. Maude Wilson of Eli, Nev., and one grandchild.- The body is at the Smith funeral home. -

Obituary For William Spencer Trumbo
W. S. Trumbo Dies Here Tuesday
Alturas Plainsdealer - December 5, 1959

W. S. "Spence" Trumbo, passed away in the Modoc Medical Center in this city early Tuesday morning after an illness of several months.
Trumbo was one of Modoc country's most prominent ranches. Until 1942, he resided on his ranch, three miles southeast of Alturas. The ranch was sold to Ralph Renner.
The deceased was born and raised on the ranch on which he resided. The property originally belonged to his pioneer parents.
In 1902 Trumbo was married to Miss Alice Hall. He is survived by his wife and a sister, Mrs. George Fitzpartick.
After selling his ranch holdings, Trumbo moved to Alturas, where he purchased a home and has since resided. He was affiliated with the Shrine and Odd Fellows lodges.
Funeral services will be held from Kerr chapel Friday at 2:00 p.m.

July 7, 1955 for Opal Elma PRITCHARD, all I know is Modoc Co., don't know where she died just found this info. on rootsweb. I think this might be my gr.aunt, and we'd really like to find her burial place, her husband never told us!!!! The woman I'm looking for was really Mary Alma, but the info. of WILSON for father, and BILYEU for mother fits. I don't even know her birthdate for sure to know if this is the right woman. I am looking for the obit for my ggg grandmother. Isabella (Chrisman) King Weimer died Lake City, Modoc, CA Feb 9, 1907. At the time of her death she was living with her son, Willie B. King and her daughter-in-law, Alice Belle (Powley) King. I have a copy of her death certificate and I would like an obituary to go with it. Thanks.

James F. Davis, b. 2 Dec 1881 in New Pine Creek, Modoc Co, CA, d. 1 April 1951 in Surprise Valley. His parents were Daniel and Mary (RENFRO) Davis. James married Vesta DIBBLE and they had 2 boys.

I have lots of information on their descendants, but I am looking for James's half sister, Ruby, b. 1895 to Samuel and Mary (RENFRO) Davis. Samuel was Daniel's brother. Ruby was married at least once to a Winfield.

I also would like to find Vesta's mother's maiden name. Alice was married to John FREEBORN and had 2 children. She had one child prior to that marriage. Then she married Samuel Chandler DIBBLE and they had Vesta.

Any ancestor history on the above mentioned people would be appreciated. Thanks.

Seeking info re the Scammon brothers, incl. Isaiah, Meltiah and Justin who may have resided in the Surprise Valley area in the period about 1870-5. Meltiah married Mrs. L.M. Covell of Surprise Valley in 1873. Meltiah had considerable land in Modoc county and later moved to San Francisco.

Looking for infomation on Isabella Francis (Christman)King. b. Rutherford Co. Murfreesbora TN 1832. Married 1851 to William B. King. Crossed plains in 1855. Settled in NV. Moved to CA in circa 1867. Had 8 children with William. Widowed in 1893 then married George Wimer. Widowed (again) in 1897 and died 1907 in Lake City, Modoc Co. CA. I am looking for Isabella's parents names. The LDS IGI records incorrectly listed her father as George Wimer, when he was actually her second husband. I do know that her father owned a plantation in Murfreesbora TN.

Mary Ellen Driscoll of Alturas died Aug. 30, 1987 at Warner Mountian Nursing Center in Alturas, Ca. Mrs. Driscoll had made Alturas her home for the past ten years. She was born Mary Ellen Ryan to Mary (O'Hearne) and Thomas Ryan in Los Angeles, CA on Jan. 12, 1912. She was 75 years of age at the time of her passing. Mrs. Driscoll worked as a health aid in Multnomath County, OR before moving from Portland, OR to Alturas. She was a widow. Survivors include her daughtor, Mary A. Smith of Cupertino, CA, formerly an R.N. at Warner Mountian Nursing Center; son James T. DeHart of Barsto, CA. No services will be held.
