William C. Redding is my great grandfather wife Mary Gilroy.
W.C. born in Mass. 1828 and Mary born in Ireland 1830. I am
looking for both of their parents. W.C.'s Mom and Dad might
have been married between 1820 - 1827. I'm looking in Boston for them. Connecting with the Queen's City, sailing
ship which he boarded, toward the Isthmus of Panama or around the horn and ending up in 1848 at San Francisco, then
to the Gold Country around Auburn, CA. I'm told that he
panned gold in the American River, made his fortune and went
to Marin County where he established his family in Millerton, CA and then went on to Nicasio where he lived for
the rest of his life. He is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Petaluma, CA. Anybody know ships and could help with info
in this area would be appreciated.
