Elenor Keehn
Elenor A. Keehn died at Alderson's Convalescent Hospital on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003, at the age 91. She was born Nov. 12, 1911 in San Rafael, Marin County, Ca. to the late Peter and Nora (Sullivan) LeCornec. She was the third born of five children. Her mother, Nora, came to the United States from Ireland at the age of 20. Her father, Peter, was born in Kentfield, Marin County, Ca. Elenor's family moved to Woodland in 1918. She attended Holy Rosary Academy, graduating in 1929, and had been a member of the Glee Club. Elenor wrote the words for the class song "Missing You."
She was married to John A. Keehn in 1935, where they wed in the Catholic Church at Carson City, Nev., with the Rev. Monsignor F.M. Wientjes officiating. They raised two children. Elenor was a member of the Young Ladies Institute; the Holy Rosary Mother's Club, and the Holy Rosary Alumni Association. She had been an avid reader and always enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. Elenor worked in the office of the Electric Garage located on the corner of Third and Main Streets during the 1930's she then helped in the office of Keehn, Keehn & Lucchesi Construction in the 1940s and early years of the 1950s. She also worked as a seasonal bookkeeper for Heidrick Farms in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
Her son, John H. Keehn and wife Janice of Woodland; her daughter, Marilyn Croll and husband Jim of Zamora survive Elenor. Also surviving are grandchildren Tom Keehn of Woodland; Randy Keehn and wife Debbie of Phoenix, Ariz.; Steve Keehn and wife Lynn of Woodland; Kirsten (Croll) Givens and husband Ron of Sacramento; Jeannene (Croll) Jew and husband Brian of Roseville; Janey (Croll) Wood and husband Bryan of Colorado.
Six great-grandsons, Bradley Keehn, Jesse and Joshua Givens and Kelly, Ryan and Logan Jew and one great-grand-granddaughter, Brittany Keehn also survive Mrs. Keehn.
She was preceded in death by her husband John A. Keehn, her parents and sisters: Irene Langenour and Jeanne Thompson and brothers: Herb LeCornec and Wally LeCornec.
A prayer vigil will be held at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland, Ca. on Thursday evening, Aug. 14, 2003 at 7 p.m. A mass will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 103 Walnut St., Woodland, Ca. at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2003 with Father John Boll officiating. Interment will follow immediately after the service at St. Joseph's Mausoleum, Woodland, Ca. The family requests that any donations in Mrs. Keehn's memory be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors is assisting the family with arrangements.
