Thanks for your advice and assistance! I'm pleased by all the leads I'm getting from here. All I can say is that its good I'm relatively young and still have a few decades, at least, of genealogy searching left in me as I had no idea there were still so many places actively mining gold in California in the mid 1920s. Shows how much I know! I also think you're right in saying that Charles could have gone anywhere near Los Angeles city, out of the county into the surrounding areas. All I know is that he lived in Los Angeles until sometime around 1923. Too bad family legends don't have more information! Well it makes for some good "detective" work. Thanks again!
