was born to Leroy Lafayette Sufficool and Florence Vera (Abbey) Sufficool on March 26, 1913 in Missoula, MT. He died Sunday January 11, 2009 at Trinity Center, from complications post surgery.
John spent his early years ranching in Missoula, attending school, and working out of Long Beach CA on commercial sea trawlers. By 1931, the family moved to Appanoose county, Iowa. Earlier generations of John's ancestors were pioneers to Iowa, arriving in the early 1850's to Buchanan county. Hazelton still has a Sufficool street, and several generations are buried in the Hazelton Fontana cemetery. John's parents were buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale CA.
John worked a variety of jobs during the depression, including mechanics, welding, truck driving, and road works. He met his sweetheart Vera Florence Kaster in Appanoose county, and they married in Des Moines on March 15, 1939. Subsequent years produced children Charlotte Belle and Paul Edward. The family settled in Colfax, IA, where John was the proprietor of Sufficool Towing Co. for 40 years. During retirement, John and Vera stayed active camping, fishing, and attending rodeos and state fairs. Both lived at the Trinity center during their final years, spending time together daily.

Paul Edward, and grandson Brett Thompson.
He is survived by his brother Stanley Woodrow, daughter Charlotte (Larry) Thompson, granddaughters Valerie Thompson, Theresa (Sissko) Carter, Leslie (Bill) Malcom, and daughter- in-law Linda (Barker) Sufficool.
