According to the California Death index , 1940- 1997 indicates that Hattie Belle Lentz died in Kings Co., July 18, 1986. Social Security files show her last known residence as Tulare Co. Her father’s surname is Augerhole. She is the daughter of Alex Augerhole and Mary Sumpter Augerhole. Born in Indian Territory, OK 1888. the only other records that I can find are as a young girl in Ok in 1907. She is the great aunt of my wife. Any information about her would be appreciated..

Funeral services for Nicholas Drosdoff, 56, brother of Eugene Drosdoff of San Mateo, and who died February 16 at his home in Hanford, were held this morning at the All Saints Russian Orthodox Church of Burlingame.
He was a native of Russia.
Survivors include his wife, Maria and an aunt, Mrs. Anna Lewis De-Menar, Burlingame.
Interment will be at the Serbian Cemetery, Colma, under direction of Crosby-N. Gray Chapel.

I am searching for information on Eulah E. Hallam. In August 1953 when Eulah's mother died, Eulah was living in Avenal, California and her name was Mrs. Eulah E. Hallam in the obituary. Eulah's mother was Rosie Ellen Harrison. Eulah was born in Oklahoma about 1907. Eulah had a brother Earl Harrison and he died in 1973 in Fresno, California. Eulah had a sister Kathryn Marie Juarez who died in 1999 in San Joaquin County, California. These people are descendants of John "Pinky" Harmon who came to Oklahoma before statehood.

I need Eulah's birth and death dates and where she is buried. I have never known if she had children.

Anyone related to Fern Knight Baskett, who died March 24, 1982 in Fresno County? They lived in Kings County, California, so she is probably buried somewhere in Kings County. Fern's maiden name is Knight. Not sure of her husband's name. A relative surely must be Rufus M. Baskett, who died in 1977 in Kings County. (Rufus just might have been her husband).

I am trying to find any information on my father and my paternal grandparents.
My grandmother's name was Isabel J. Dias. DOB 04/26/1925
DOD 08/06/1987. I know that she was married to my father's father, and then later married Tony Dias sometime prior to 1977. After Grandma died, Grandpa Tony married a woman named Peggy.
My grandmothers house was on Washington St. off of S. 11th Ave in Hanford.
My father's name was Roger Frank Fagundes DOB 9/10/1941 DOD 5/25/1992. He was born in Hanford, but died in Oregon.

Hi everyone - As some of you know, I have volunteered to do obit lookups for Kings County. The only thing I have asked is that the copy charges from the library be reimbursed. What started as a little project a year ago has netted a lot of information.

I now have a collect of obituaries, etc. for this county. Currently there are over 1000 obituaries, death notices, funeral notices etc. in the collection. I'm working on listing all the obituaries & adding them to the web. As of tonight I have 1163 people on the list.

Do any of you have copies of obituaries you would like to share with others? I will only post information to a "free" website like USGenWeb. This is a not-for-profit project.

If you would like to share your information, I would love to include include it. I plan to have the first list published with in a month. I will let everyone know when it is up.

I'm searching for information about and descendants of John C. Crigler, b. 21 Dec1819, Boone Co. KY and d. 10 Sept1909, Kings Co. CA. He is buried in Grangeville Cemetery, Armona CA. He married Amanda ? b. c 1838 MO (1870 census). He moved with his father and the rest of the family to Howard Co. MO. He headed west during the gold rush of 1849 (History of Howard and Chariton Co. 1883) and settled first in Placerville, El Dorado Co. CA (near where Marshall discovered gold at Sutter's Mill). After that he travelled extensively and lived in the following counties: Sacramento, Colusa, Napa, Lake, Placer. He must have returned to MO for a while as he appears on the 1850 census at his parent's home.

Carol Lea Monfore

Carol Lea Monfore, 73, of Hawaii, formerly of Waldport, died Feb. 4, 2007, at the Maurice J. Sullivan Center in Ewa Beach, Hawaii, following a battle with cancer.

She was born Oct. 29, 1933, in Yankton, S.D., the only child of Bessie and Lawrence Muller.

She was raised in Springfield, S.D. where her father was a farmer. She attended elementary school in the one room county schoolhouse where her mother taught as a schoolteacher for Bon Homme County. She later attended Springfield High School where she participated in various social and academic activities, graduating in 1951.

She attended the Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Yankton, S.D., and received a degree in nursing in 1953.

During high school, she met and began dating Thomas E. Monfore. They were married in 1954 and moved to Madison, Wis., where he attended medical school while she worked as a nurse. The following year they welcomed their first child, Kimberly.

In 1958, Carol gave birth to their second daughter, Terrie. In 1959, the family moved to Fresno, Calif., where Tom took on a surgical residency, and Carol continued to work as a nurse at Fresno General Hospital.

In 1961, she gave birth to their third child, Montgomery, a son.

In 1962, the family spent a year in Tacoma, Wash., where Tom served on active duty with the U.S. Army at Madigan General Hospital during the Berlin Crisis.

In 1963, they returned to Fresno and Carol gave birth to their fourth child, Dana, a daughter.

In 1964, Carol and her family moved to Hanford, Calif., which became her home of nearly 40 years.

In addition to being a nurse, she was a homemaker and was active in the community and the activities of her children.

In the late 1970s, she became a single mother and returned to the field of nursing after a 25 year hiatus. She worked in a physician's office and for an insurance company before finding her place in home health nursing, which she did until her retirement.

She settled in Waldport in 2003 to be near her daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Paul. In 2005, she visited family and friends in South Dakota, and in 2006 moved to Hawaii to be near her daughters Kimberly and Terrie.

She occasionally attended the First Presbyterian Church in Newport.

She journeyed to Japan and Europe, took several cruises, and traveled throughout the United States to visit friends and her daughters in Hawaii and Oregon.

She enjoyed storytelling and watching professional football and basketball, and participated in water walking at the Newport swimming pool.

She loved her pets, including her dog Piper.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Rowan Monfore Lucas, in 2005.

Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Kimberly A. Monfore of Kona, Hawaii, Terrie L. Monfore of Pahoa, Hawaii, and Dana M. and Paul F. Lucas of Waldport; a son, Montgomery T. Monfore of Legian, Bali, Indonesia; and several brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A private memorial service is planned. Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, or any non-kill animal shelter or rescue organization.

We are looking for any info on May Daly who was supposed to have been from the Hanford area and was born in 1874. She was supposed to have been born in California. She married a Mr. McGue in about 1895 and had one daughter. The family lived in Hanford and then went up to Jackson. Mr. McGue went to Nevada to mine and died in 1898 on the Comstock Lode. May Daly McGue married Benjamin Griffin of the Jackson area in 1899 and had other children. She died in 1905 and is buried in Ione. We are pretty sure May was born in California. Any info on Daly or McGue families in the Hanford area would be appreciated. We believe May's parents and McGue's parents may have stayed in the Hanford area.

Acccording to CA Death Index, Willie Magdalina WILLIAMS was b1-15-1905 Oklahoma and d1-2-1985 Kings Co. It adds that her mother's maiden name was PRATER and father was PENDLEY.

William Beard, Sarah Burbridge and family

I am trying to learn when/where William Henry Beard died. His widowed wife and children were on the 1900 census in Hanford City p:345A but I don't know when the family went to Kings County - some time between 1887-1900 based on birth place of their last child. Kings County will not look for a death record citing "identity theft" though I find it hard to believe that anyone claiming to be William b.1856; d.bet 1887-1900 could qualify as a living person now. Some of wife Sarah's Burbridge family also went to Kings County so it's possible William died enroute and she continued on with her relatives.

Sarah was still living when the 1910 census was taken in Hanford but not found afterwards. William and Sarah's son, Charles Orville Beard, lived in San Francisco. Daughter Daisy m. ca 1907 to Chester Philip Martin but she must have died between 1910-20 when she was last on a census in Kings County; Chester Martin remarried. Daughter Ida, b.1885, I have no further clue to after her appearance on the 1900 census in her mother's household.

Are there any available sources in Kings County that might hold a clue to this family of William Henry Beard and wife Sarah Angelina Burbridge? Thank you.

Looking for any information of Oliver McCOY and wife Maggie COYIER. They were in Lemoore in the 1880
census and I found him in the Great Register twice from the book at the Tulare Library. Oliver was killed by
indians in Kern County on 3 July 1891 and the newspaper articles said he left a wife and several children in
Lemoore. Child Ida is my Gr-gr-grandmother. There was also a child Robin. Oliver's father was also Robins
McCOY. I have nothing on Maggie's family and have a gap of almost 30 years between 1850 and 1880. Any info

John P Duncan is with his daughter, Adaline, and husband James Harris on the 1900 census in Lemoore. By 1910 he had died but I have not located a grave or an obit. Can anyone assist? John Duncan's wife, Susan Adaline Duncan, had died prior but we cannot locate that grave either...and think maybe the family buried him next to his wife....and an obit would tell where. He was listed as a Preacher. Are there any old churches of the community that might have recorded a funeral? Any help would be wonderful.

My Grandfather was Geary K Thiessen Jr., he was born Frank Keller Ross. His mother was Edna Dorothy O'brien. That's all we know. I'm hoping someone out there has more information on Edna Dorothy. I know her father was called Pop Blue by my grandfather before he was removed from his mother by my great grandmother. I know Edna O'brien was born in Hanford, CA. and so was my grandfather. Apparently Edna was a mexican indian halfbreed so she basically had no rights.

I don't know a whole lot about him other than he is my g-g-grandfather. I don't know if he was born in Gilroy but his wife Eutima Castro was abt 1857. He was known to ride horses and may have been in the local rodeos. He died in Gilroy abt. 1935. I don't know his birth year, his parents etc.

Adventist church site history

As a child, in the late 1930s, I lived at 904 N. Redington, in Hanford. It is now the site of the 7th Day Adventist Church. When my family lived there this lovely old house had been converted into two apartments. Anyone know about its history and if descendants of builder or former owners are still in Hanford? I would love to have a picture of this house, it has many happy childhood memories. The other tenant’s in the house when we were there was a couple with name pronounced “Aid-a-lot” His name was Jim and his parents were in the ice and oxygen business They had a lovely home called “Kilmer’s Trees”. outside town. I am searching for the marriage of Preston Watts. I found Preston Watts and wife, Susanne, living in Hanford in a city directory. They were there in the 1967 and 1970 volumes. Lillie Rockwell WILLIAMS, to put flowers on graves in the Grangeville cemetery. So I assume there were
members of her familly there.

The Surnames would be BATES--possible first names William, Martha, John, Jacob, James and Samuel:
ROCKWELL--possible first names Alonzo, Wallace, or A.W. or any combination of these two names, James,
Martha, William, Samuel, and Noah, Dates should be between 1890 and 1920.

I know this is very vague and a lot of names to look for. If there are any Kings Co. inqueries about these surnames
