[from Grangeville column] -- Prof. F.R. HIGHT, principal of our school here [Grangeville], left quietly and mysteriously for parts unknown on the morning of the 17th and some of his pupils who were unaware of his object in slipping away from them were beginning to bemoan their luck in losing so genial and competent a teacher, but the truth gradually leaked out that the Professor had become tired of living in single blessedness and had gone in search of a partner with whom he could trot along life's pathway in matrimonial harness. He returned home Sunday evening, accompanied by the lady who will share his future joys and sorrows. Miss WILLIAMS, of Merced county, was married to him on Sunday morning. Prof. HIGHT is highly esteemed by all his scholars and by everyone who is acquainted with him. We wish him and his good wife a long life of health, happiness and prosperity. Researching the Martin family. Anthony b. 12 Apr 1910 Fresno CA and d. 8 Jan 1960 Walnut Creek CA. His father Antone F. Martin died Fresno CA 1 Jul 1911 and is buried in Fresno. Antony's mother, Marianna Nunez b. 6 jan 1885 Red Bluff CA d.7 Apr 1950 Vallejo CA. After the death of Antone the mother Marianna married his brother. Name? They lived in Lemoore CA where Anthony received his first communion at age 7 St. Peters Church. Moved to Hanford in 1920 and confirmed at St. Bridgets Church 4 Apl 1921. Had a large family. Brothers and sisters names? Anthony graduated from elementary school - St. Rose in Hanford 1 Jun 1925. Related to the Castadio family in Lemoore (lived at 140 C St.? Lemoore) Would appreciate info on Anthony's brothers and sisters and the name of Anthonys father. What children were by the 1st Martin then the 2nd Martin brother? Thanks..

Note spelling of last name but probably her. I found no info on the husband or son with different spellings.

Charles Adolph Civil War Vet gravesite pic & obit please

Hello,

Am looking for pictures of gravesite of Charles Adolph. My research shows him to be buried in Lot 310-1 Old Hanford Cemetery. He was a Civil War veteran who served with Co. A., 17th N.Y. Vol. His wife Anna E. might also be interred there.

An obituary for these two would also be greatly appreciated:

Charles Adolph died April 25, 1921, in Los Angeles Co., but had been a resident of Kings Co. (He may have died at the Soldier's Home).

Anna E. Adolph died Feb. 25, 1917 in Kings Co.

My grandmother was Luella Rogers (Joaquin's Daughter). She married Aurther Knudson (Aka Knudtson and Knudsen). They had 4 children (Tommy, Dorinda (Dee), Stan (my Dad) and Whylene.

She later married Gibson and then Schols (she passed away with that last name).

I cant tell you what a find it was to locate your family tree!

I am searching for information on Eulah E. Hallam. In August 1953 when Eulah's mother died, Eulah was living in Avenal, California and her name was Mrs. Eulah E. Hallam in the obituary. Eulah's mother was Rosie Ellen Harrison. Eulah was born in Oklahoma about 1907. Eulah had a brother Earl Harrison and he died in 1973 in Fresno, California. Eulah had a sister Kathryn Marie Juarez who died in 1999 in San Joaquin County, California. These people are descendants of John "Pinky" Harmon who came to Oklahoma before statehood.

I need Eulah's birth and death dates and where she is buried. I have never known if she had children.

He is the son of William A McClanahan. He was born . 26 Oct. 1904, in Wagoner, Wagoner Co., OK. His mother was Susan A. Dye. William A. and Susan are burried in Evergreen Cemetery 201 East Gillett Street, El Centro, CA 92243. I just found that out today. I am related through Daulce Grandfather's brother. I know nothing else about her. I am researching Marnin families (Iowa mostly). I do not know if this is a maiden or married name. Thus, if her name is indeed Marvin, I don't even need any further info. Hoping obit might tell a little more about her. I posted for an obit in Tulare County.

Helen Edith Simas, 90, of Avenal died Monday morning at her home She was a native of Missouri and had lived in Avenal for 28 years.
She is survived by a son, David Young of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; two daughters, Ruth Kern of Alhambra and Naomi Ward of Montclair; a sister, Connie Gladwell of Placerville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Private cremation was planned, with arrangements by Phipps-Dale Chapel of Lemoore.

I am looking for any information on the Lima family of Kings co., and if possible if there are listed any Chavez families. Mary
Lima was living in Hanford Co. and I believe died there in 1975.
It is possible that she is related to my grt. grandmother Virginia
Chavez Welch Alfaro.

Well, it turns out I was wrong. I just obtained Rufus Baskett's death certificate from California and his surviving spouse WAS "Fern S. Knight". Maybe they were only married a short time. Rufus was a clergyman for Foursquare Gospel Church. The census in New Mexico with Fern and Mr. Bixler (Fern's first husband) indicates they were missionaries.

This is all very interesting.

It is the one I needed.Right now I do not remember where the date of death came from but that was what I had given to me. I am so glad you found it and I can now correct and get the obit in my notes.

She was actually the mother of Henri Theodore Young b. June 20, 1911 death date unknown, the one that was in Alcatraz. And I see that he was not mentioned by name along with the other children. I had David Erastus Young, Jr. died April 13, 1991. Although the movie Murder In The First had Henri dying in it that did not happen in reality.

I have first hand knowledge of her being the mother of Henri, and do know that is correct.
