Nona Lee Zimmerman
MOJAVE — A memorial service will be held Friday, August 19 at 2:30 p.m. at Stickel Mortuary, Mojave, for Nona Lee Zimmerman who passed away Monday. Mrs. Zimmerman was a 33-year resident of Mojave who worked as a bookkeeper for the East Kern Airport District for 19 years, and for two businesses in New Iberia, Louisiana. She was a loving mother who, along with her husband raised four children. She loved to read and spend time with her family and friends.
She was born May 24, 1924, at Porter, New Mexico.
Mrs. Zimmerman was active in the Mojave Senior Citizens and served as an election and voter registration volunteer.
Survivors include Jerry, her husband of 56 years, sister Leora Goodwin of Concordia, Kansas; brother and sister-in-law Ray and Shirley Stunts of Clovis, New Mexico; sister and brother-in-law Glenda and Don Richardson of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee; and sister and brother-in-law Sherry and Gene Van Campen of Vici, Oklahoma.
She is also survived by daughter and son-in-law Karen and Gene Vorhees of San Antonio, Texas; son and fiancee Gary Zimmerman and Belinda Massey of Mojave, son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Jackie Zimmerman of Kernersville, North Carolina; daughter and son-in-law Kristi and Manny Diotte of San Antonio, Texas; grandson and fiancee Chad Scott and Jenny Haynes of Dublin, California; granddaughter and fiance Joanna Scott and Jon Pierre Gentil of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughter, grandson-in-law, and great granddaughter Brenda, Ian, and Lauren Robertson of Mojave; grandson Tristan Zimmerman of Miramar; granddaughter Ashley Zimmerman of Mojave; and grandson Ryan Zimmerman of Mojave.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Lung association or the American Heart Association.
