Sorry to confuse. Brothers Asa Merton Cline and James William Cline were foreman on Eaton Ranches in Big Pine and Long Valley in the 1920s. They also worked on other Ranches. The Clines were noted for their horse and cattle skills.
James William Cline had son Lester Charles Cline (1911-1986) of Bishop, CA. At least this was what I was told.
Lester's mother was Paiute. Lester went down to Whittier, CA, for final years in high school and Lester also appears in the 1920 Census with his grandmother Angelina Corlew in Whittier.
This Lester Cline is likely the Lester Cline (b. 1911) that appears in the Indian Census Rolls on Ancestry with mother Maggie and brother , Jim Cline. Since James William Cline was not a part of the tribe he does not appear. Other Indian Census years list other Cline and Martinez siblings, such as Harry Cline (b. 1913) whose death is also recorded in the Census 17 AUG 1933.
If you go through the Findagrave memorials for "Cline" and "Martinez" at the Schurz Paiute Indian Cemetery in Mineral County, Nevada, you will find references to siblings Lester Cline of Bishop.
Lots of the Clines should still be around so hopefully you can connect with them. Lester Cline on horseback at the Bishop Rodeo is still a vivid memory from childhood.
