I appreciate your reply. I am not sure I understand it.
What I understand from family history is that my grandfather went west to California from Wisconsin to have a Ranch and supposedly had one. Not sure if it was in Willows or nearby, but his daughter was born in Williow.
It sounds like the history in what you describe was of farming, and this is not something he would be interested in. What was the relation ship between the ranchers and the farmers? Was there a ratio?
In the SVI was there any need for electricians or carpenters? I am not sure what incentives the SVI would have gave to inspire him to make the move unless it was cheap land.
How where people recruited to the area?
