Squire Griffith returns to Missouri from California gold rush, Sep 1850, per newspaper article:
From California - By the plains. Messrs. Barnet Furnish, and Pleasant Wilson of this county; Squire Griffith and Henry Swearingen, of Nodaway county; Dr. Clemens, of Pike county, Illinois; James and Aaron Anglin, of Arkansas; and Mr. Moor of Kentucky; have arrived direct from California. They left Weavertown on 1 July, arrived Salt Lake on 31 Aug and St. Joseph on 16th inst. making the trip in 78 days. They laid by for several days, which accounts for the length of time they were on the plains.
