I am writing a book entitled "California's Arab Americans." Can anyone supply any information about Mr. Fahily who was a shoemaker in San Andreas in 1948? Where was he from, when did he first come, why to San Andreas, did he bring his family, did he move somewhere else, etc.?

Thank you for any help on this.

There is a Louis Fahily buried in the Masonic section of the Peoples Cemetery in San Andreas. B: 6/15/1896 and D:12/31/1985.
A Louis F. Fahily also got married to Susan Lance on 4/10/1965 in Calaveras County.
There is a Fahily Circle street in San Andreas so I would assume that may have been their home site at one time.

I am looking for Louis Fahily's family. I was recently given a photo album that belonged to him from the 30's, 40's, and 50's. The person that gave it to me wants it to get to a family member. If anyone has any information please contact me.

This probably will not help much since it is info from 1985, but the only person named as responsible for the funeral cost when Louis died was a step son named George Kenourgios who lived in Jackson, Amador Co, CA at that time. You might be able to find that name on a internet search.

Louie Fahily was married to my Grandmother Stella.
I live in Jackson. I lived with Louie and my grandmother in San Andreas when I was a young girl. Our Family did not know Louie in 1950 or 60, My Grandmother knew him however they did not marry until around 1969 or 1970.
I would love to see the photo album you have. I know Louie raised a couple of step daughters that are alive and they would be happy to have pictures. One I remember was named Myrna. There are streets around his old house that are named for the girls.

Good to hear from you. I live in Jamestown and that makes it easy for us. Please write to me at dessieola@yahoo.com and we can make arrangements. Somebody has taken pictures out so I hope your family will still know some of the people. I will find the album while I wait for a reply from you. I am happy to get it back to the family it belongs to.
