I am looking for information about George Bright Pearce and Olivia Ann (Aikin)Pearce and their children who moved from eastern Iowa to Butte Co. CA (probably Paradise) in late 1800s. The nine children (born 1848-1866) were Mary Louisa, Lura), Ellen, Lura (m. Thomas McNees), Frances, Henry, Arthur, Cyrus, Jesse (m. Thomas Jenkins), George Jr. (m. Mary Jan Howard). The Pearces are cousins on my mother's side of the family.

I am curious about why they moved there from Iowa. I attended college in Chico in the late 1960s, but was unaware that they had been there first!
