Gary,
Amador County was formed from Calaveras County in 1854, so at the time he died the area which is currently Calaveras County and Amador County would have all been in Calaveras County.
The Mokulmne River was made the dividing line between Amador and Calaveras Counties for many miles, so it is possible any records you might find could be listed under either county.
Hopefully someone else reading your message will know more about old cemetery records than I do.
