The photo was taken in Amador City in front of the 1st THOMAS General Store that burned down. I believe the store was on the far East side of Water Street, near the "Little Amador" Mine. The photo was labeled by my Grandmother, "Taken on porch of old store. Wm Hart, D.Rodda, ___ Gundry (lived behind Liz house), father with me in his arm. ? other man-- about 1889". Liz was my grandmother's older sister, Elizabeth Jane THOMAS SOWDEN. Josiah Gundry, I believe, is the only Gundry in area at the time, that would match the photo.
