Balsley this is but a history of the CA earthquake April 18 1906 had this entry about West Point, CA: “West Point. Population 266. (Mr. Balsley.) — A pail of water two-thirds full slopt over; pans rattled, and the clock was moved on the wall. The shock moved Mr. Balsley's bed from side to side, southwest to northeast.”
