I have a family member who died at the age of 3 1/2 while in the Mission San Jose in when it was an orphanage., She died there and I think is in an unmarked grave. I have contacted the mission and they eventually cant find her. Her name is Mary Marjorie Wooten b. 6 April 1912 and d. 19 Sept.1915. Her Mother is Myrtle M. Wooten (McBee) Father Frank M. Wooten. In the Calif. death index 1905-1939 she is listed and death place is Alameda, Calif. The question is usually you can go through the newspaper on that date to get an obit. Also through the library in the town to get the official obit. Things have changed since then and I don't know what paper and library to contact. Can anyone help me with this.
