Iam trying to help my sister find out anythig about Pioneer Village Restaurant I believe in San Leandro in the 1950's for sure maybe early and dont know when it closed.
My sister's dad (before I was born they were divorced) worked there as a cook for many years, we used to go there as kids. She has more memories than I do of spending some afternoons there, but my memories are fond ones. We would love to find pictures, cant remeber where it was at all.
He also worked at Plands which may have been a bar or a restauarant or both. His name was John Arthur "Art" Lee...a waitress also worked at Plands that he dated..her name may have been Bonnie..
Many baseball players used to come into where he worked, he had pictures with some old ball players, Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle, dont knw what ever happened to those pictures..darn!
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks--Cris -
