By a strange set of circumstances, the Paradise Genealogical Society in Paradise, Butte Co., CA has come into possession of the tombstone for Annie Lowe, daughter of Waldo and Eliza Whitman Lowe, who died 20 May 1868 possibly in Fremont where her parents lived in 1870. However, some members of the family were buried in the San Jose area at Trinity Episcopal Chruch and Oak Hill cemeteries.

We would like to return the headstone either to the family or the burying place from whence it came.

What newspapers of the area might have carried a death notice or obit? My guess is that Annie was a twin of Mary Lowe who was born the day Annie died. Perhaps a birth announcement for Mary would mention that her twin had died.
