I don't have any info other than a LDS record/posting on Samuel Tollison who married Margaret McGaughey. It states that Wm "Grandsire" Tollison who married a Patsy(?) Hitson were his parents. Is this the correct family? Thank you.

I am seeking information on Samuel Tolleson, who I believe is the son of William "Grandsire" Tolleson. I too found the information in LDS website. Sam married Margaret E. McGaughey on Dec 23, 1842 in Lawrence Co., AL. They had the following children, Wm. L, Mary E., James C., Amanda J., Franklin, Roseanna, and Bev W.
I am descended from Roseanna who married Enoch Hunt Feb 23, 1882 in Yell Co., AR.
Would be interested in sharing information.

I was THRILLED to see your old message posted re: Sam Tolleson and hope this email address is still current for you. This is my line as I am descended from William LaFate brother to your Roseanna. I, too, some time ago found the marrige record naming Margaret E McGaughey as wife of Samuel Tolleson in Lawrence Co AL. I have not been able to "prove" who her parents were, but by proces of elimination using census records, it would appear that she is most likely daughter of JAMES H McGaughey & PATSY NORTON who had a daughter born 1823/1825. I've never found her given name nor anything about her other than census records so cannot prove she is our Margaret. Would love to correspond with you since we are obviously in the same family tree....... always fun to find another "cousin"

Hi, Yes, we are of the same TOLLESON family. I have files full of into so let me know what you need to fill in anything missing in your files. Basically, it goes like this....

Samuel TOLLESON md Margaret E McGaughey 23 Dec 1842 Lawrence Co AL, eventually settling in Yell Co, AR, both died in Yell Co. They had children: William Lafate (my line) who md Mary Ellen "Polly" Phillips; Mary E, who md Charles Parker; Thebernan who died as infant; James A. who md Margaret Martin; Amanda Jane, who md Thomas Jefferson Taylor; Edward Franklin who died age 16; Roseanne M (your line) who md Enoch Hunt; Bev W who died as infant.

I believe I have collected about all that is available on each of these families so let me know what you need. I am most happy to share, always ! Either write back on this site or use my email at suemb_1999@yahoo.com

Always fun to hear from another "cousin" ----

Yes, there are several Williams in our Tolleson line. I'll get some info put together for you later this week - the next 2-3 days are hectic for me at work so has to wait til I slow down. William Lafate Tolleson is my direct line -- he's s/o Samuel Tolleson and father of my Samuel Harvey Tolleson. Samuel Harvey (S.H.) was my great grandfather. Do you have the family information on Roseanne Tolleson Hunt ? Her marriage and her children? Let me know what you already have so I don't send duplicates. Sue
