Cotton Plant News

Hello, all. I am searching for newspapers in Woodruff County, and specifically in Cotton Plant. During a visit to Little Rock earlier this year, I learned that there existed in the late 19th century and early 20th century a Cotton Plant newspaper which chronicled the news of black residents. Does anyone know how to obtain microfilm/fiche records of this publication? Thank you for your help.

Deborah

Did you ever get an answer to your post? I too am looking for newspaper that was reporting in Cotton Plant in 1915 because we believe one of our family was murdered there then.
Please let me know. Thanks!

Hi Kathy,
My father used to get the paper so i know it existed. 50 years ago.Try the chamber of commerce. I also had a relative who was murdered his name was Herman Erie or Eary. It could have been that long ago.

I don't remember the message exactly. But you are welcome.
I don't know if they even have a chamber of commerce or not but they should have have some kind of town government.
Are you from Cotton Plant? Just curious. I was born there. You can reach me directly at rdwhtnblu17@cs.com if you like. I still have family there.
