Does anyone have info on the early WHITEs in White Co.? I know several bought land. One was a William P. WHITE ca 1860. I would appreciate any info on any WHITE in White Co. as my ggggrandfather was in the area around 1862 and I have almost nothing on him. Thanks.

My gggrandfather was James William White. He was raised by the James Dupriest family in the Marshall Twnshp of White Co. AR. The Dupriest family came to the area in 1856. James White is listed in the Dupriest household on the 1870 Census. He married Nancy Jane Jenkins in May of 1873. He died in Feb 1875 when my grandfather, John Thomas White was only 3 months old.

need to correct my reply:Emma White's father was John Camp White,Christopher White was her Grandfather.

I am a descendant of the elder brother of James P. Depriest, Green. Records seem to indicate that he marrried Deborah White in GA. She died and he married at least one more time and possibly two. It is possible that my GGGrandmother, Julia Dupriest was one of Deborah's children. I will be glad to exchange any info. I have, in the hopes of filling in the record.
