I have distant relative who married a woman who real name is rather shrouded in mystery. He was Howard Weldon Angus and his wife was known as Bernardine de Tuvache Angus. Bernie invented many famous perfumes and wrote screen plays in Los Angeles. She went by 'de Tuvache' as that was the name of her perfume brand. I believe that Bernadine was also a 'stage name' she took.
I found a reference to her in 1920 as "Bernadine Meadows Angus" and a newpaper article from 1939 indicates that she was born in Judsonia. A reference to her is found on this website: http://www.argenweb.net/white/publications/thatisjudsonia.ht...
On that website, and on the same page as Bernadine, is a reference to a Conally Meadows. Checking him out he would be the right age to be the father of Bernadine. He and his wife, Cora Dell Teter, from Iowa had two daughters, Lorena and Cora Dell. The family moved to Los Angeles.
The daughter, Cora Dell, married and is documented. But of Lorena there is little I can find. SO, I am wondering If Lorena is the birth name of Bernadine?
Any information, or advice would be greatly appreciated.
