My GGrandmother was Artemecia Phillips, born in Springdale Arkansas/1848. Her parents were Wilson Phillips/Isabel C. Stone. Wilson Phillips parents were Thomas and Elizabeth Looney Phillips. Wilson and Isabel had the following children: Artemecia, Nancy,Bettie, Thomas F., Robert S.,Lewis, Dorothy and Andrew (Drew) Phillips. I believe they were born in Springdale. Artemecia married Wilbur Brakeman who moved to Springdale on his way to mine in the CA gold rush. Later, Bettie Phillips married another Brakeman brother and they moved west to AZ and then to Tulelake County, CA. My problem - Artemecia moved back to Springdale from AZ for a time - she returned to AZ with a son, George Wilson Brakeman with her who was my Grandfather. She said she adopted him in Springdale, there are no adoption records. A longshot but I don't know if my Grandfather was actually adopted or not. He was always told he was, I am not so sure. If any of these names is familiar, would love to hear from you and would love to solve the mystery of where my Grandfather came from. The name Jesse Burgess once surfaced. Thank you.
