Boy, do I have a mess with my great-great-grandmother. Either she was widowed a lot or just REALLY hard to get along with! <g>

She first married in Jackson County in 1847 to Thomas Risener, and they lived in Van Buren County when the 1860 census was taken.

I found on the IGI a marriage notation for her as Charlotty Risener marrying an H. Bradford on 13 September 1869 in Van Buren County. May have just been an issue for a license, though, since we can find no marriage record and Charlotte as listed as Charlotte Risener, widow, on the 1870 Van Buren census. (And, too, she may have fibbed about the widow part. See below!)

I found her again in 1880 in Faulkner County as Charlotte Nichols, widow. I knew it was her because she was raising her grandson, Thomas Tredaway and he was in the household. I've since found her marriage record to A. Nichols in Faulkner County in 1879. (I'd like to know the whole story there, too, since she claimed to have been a widow in 1880 while her "groom" lived down the road and claimed to be divorced.)

Now to the crux of the post...I can't find a marriage for her to a Temple in Faulkner County, so I'm thinking it may have been in Van Buren. I'm not sure how she'd be listed, as Charlotte Risener, Risner, or Bradford. She was born in 1832, if the age helps identify her.

Thank you so much if you can help!
