Re: W. P. Evans
I think we are talking about two different W. P. Evans's. I am related to a Napoleon B. Evans who in the 1880 census was living in Faulkner County, Arkansas with his wife Gemia Ussery. One of his children was William Pearson Evans who was born on September 24, 1874. Also, living with them in that census was a James Addis Evans, he is my great grandfather. He was the brother of Napoleon. I do not know anything about Napoleon's life other than he died and was buried in Fairbanks, Van Buren County, Arkansas. William P. Evans' wife is buried in Bee Branch Cemetery, Van Buren County, Arkansas but I do not know where William died or is buried.
Also, there was more than one W. P. Evans living in Van Buren County, Arkansas. Linda Evans above might help you with that mystery. She is a descendant of Napoleon. Somewhere on either this forum or on the forum in genealogy.com there is a query which states the name of the other W. P. Evans. I do not know where it is.
