My answer: I suspect there is a connection--how far back I have no idea!! Francis Marion Green and Marion Green are in the same area of the country if I remember right??
My ggrandfather, Marion Green, was b in MO abt 1847. According to census records he was the youngest child of a Lewis Green who was b in North Carolina about 1795. Give me more info on your Alva and I will look some more for him.
Where was the area they lived? when? who did he marry? Any detail that you might have might help.
