I am searching for 1870-1880 census information on my Searcy Co. ancestors who are, Wm. H. and Nancy N. (Anna Nettie McCORD) BARNES. He was born in Dec. 1862 in (unk. Co.) AR. and she was born in 1867 in Scott Co. AR. I have not been able to locate this family either before or after the 1900 Polk Co. census with the exception of finding a 1903 land patent deed for them in Searcy Co. If anyone has info on them I sure would appreciate hearing from you.

I research the Pierson surname in Searcy Co., AR. I noticed that you had it listed in your query. Do you have any connections to David and Martha Ann Pierson? There is a Nancy N McCord age 12 in the 1880 Scott County AR census. She is in the household of Bluford McCord. Seems a good possibility for your Nancy. Also on Rootsweb there are a couple of sites where if you enter Bluford McCord it shows your Nancy "Anna Nettie" as a daughter. There is a Bluford SR and JR so enter the spouse as Susan to limit the responses.

On your William Barnes go to rootsweb, enter William Barnes, to limit responses use Thomas as father and Serena as mother. Very detailed info available.

Also in previous post I failed to mention Susan, mother of Nancy McCord is sometimes listed as Susianna including I think the 1870 census and on rootsweb.
