Looking to untie a real family knot. James K. Marshall came to Searcy Co AR in abt 1837. He married a Anna, who I think was a WATTS. They had six children; Hardy, William, Elizabeth, Alexander, Rebecca and Jane(Jennie). Anna dies after the 1860 census. James then marries Milly M.. This is where is gets interesting. Milly was a Smith by birth, daughter of John and Mary Smith. She is with them on the 1850 Van Buren Co census in Union Twp. She marries a Merriman, pos. John Merriman. They have two children Elizabeth and John. In 1860 Milly is married to Ricahrd WATTS and is in his household in Searcy Co AR along with her two children by Merriman. Richard dies 16 Dec 1860. Milly then marries James K. Marshall in abt 1862. They have two sons Joel and Henry. Before 1870 James and Milly divorce. Milly is in Searcy Co with her children, Joel, Henry, Elizabeth Merriman and John Merriman. Milly later in life marries a J. N. CYPERT. Milly has one more son a Elzy Marshall but James K. is not the father. James K. Marshall has moved to Van Buren Co. AR. James in 1871 marries Jane Harness, the widow of John Harness. They then have four children; Stephen, George W., Margaret and Tennessee. James' son Alexander marries Martha JACKSON, his daughter Rebbeca marries a LINDSEY but is a widow by 1880 at age 25. I do not know the LINDSEY she married, daugher Elizabeth married a SCOTT again he dies before the 1870 census. George W. Marshall marries Martha Hensley in Van Buren Co and Tennessee may have married a LEWIS. I have lots of loose ends. I would like to know who did the MERRIMAN children marry.
