Could your earlier Hill families possibly be from Lawrence Co, IN? In those records there are several Hill marriages in the early 1800's (1822-1880's and on). Several Reed's in the area too. One of my Reed's ended up in Texas. William R. Reed b 1845 s/o Thomas and Elizabeth Richards Reed
