Hello,

I'm looking for any information on Lee Cemetery. My gr gr gr grandmother Celia (Autrey) Sample 9 Mar 1860 to 15 Jul 1907 is buried there. Are there any cemetery records that are stored in an archives or library and that are accessible?

Also, is there a local newspaper that covers the period around where she died. I found one paper I believe on FamilySearch but unfortunatly the earliest issue is, I believe, September of 1907.

Uncle leroy and my dad were brothersif you will pull up Rogers cem. In Ashley arkansas you will see where their grandfather is buried .the tall marker, if I can help you just ask and I will try to answer. The last time I saw them in la. Me and my husband stayed a few days with them before going to my mothers years ago

Alice was my great grandmother!!! I would love to know more! We called Leroy "Pappy". I have bee n trying to get more information. No one in my family had done any genealogy and I am trying to fill in a lot of blanks!

Hello. Yes I have posted some. I hope I haven't messed up the dates.....lol. I am Allise and Everett's daughter. There are a few pieces missing from the puzzles... My grandfather, Everett Carlton.....no one has ever know who his parents are. I still wonder why Allise was given up for adoption. She was the middle child. Oh, Ashalali is my dogs name. My name is Loretta. I go by Rhetta though. I only use Loretta on legal stuff. My dad wanted me named Rhetta. My mother wanted Loretta. So when the dr. came to visit when my dad was at work, she put Loretta on the birth certificate. Dad wasn't very happy. I've never been referred to as Loretta. Everyone, even while telling them my name is Loretta, has abbreviated it to Rhetta. Go figure. But that is who I am in a nutshell. I wish I had known more of the Payne's. I really liked my Uncle Paul the little I saw of him. I did receive a letter from my Grandmother Nora before she died but it was lost in storage.

I am curious as to who you are as I know this family. But some pieces of the puzzle are missing. Do you wish to share who you are? When was Allise born and where? Who did Allise marry in her years? Have you started a family tree?

Sad isn't it when there can not be a proper marker for their graves. My sister never put a marker on her husbands grave. When my mother was cremated, my sister put only a very small marker with her date of birth and date of death on it. I will see if I can upload a copy of my mother's death certificate. If I remember correctly, I believe she and Aunt Francis looked somewhat alike. I also have to get some info up on this page. So far I have saved everything in word. I was thinking more about Uncle Paul. I remember he was tall and dark. I liked him being as little as I was. I got along with him.

Thank you for this info. I did some looking over the weekend. I saw Julian and Ella's info. It had my uncle Paul and aunt Mary Francis but no mention of my mother Allise even with his marriage to Nora. I did however find Allise under Irene and Ernest Geyer. I never met my Aunt Francis, as she liked to be called but I had talked to her over the phone. She did security for a company in Nevada. I met my Uncle Paul once but was very young. My mother did not like her family around. Rumor was that Uncle Paul had light fingers. Again, that was rumor. I believe Aunt Francis was married and had at least a daughter, Susan, who was married to the vice president of Coca Cola back in the 80's. I believe Susan lived in Texas. My family was very dysfunctional and never talked about their families unless it was to pass judgement. I started doing family history years ago but when I went to live in England, all that work I had done was missing. I had done my father's history all the way back to 1500 but could not find out who my grandfather's parents were. On any certificate it only said Lenfest. So here I am at 60, starting all over again. Thank you again so very much.

Thank you for the information. I wish I could find more of his family. I would love to see pictures. I would also like to find information on their children and the orphanage that my mother was put into. I live in Maine, impossible for me to travel. His daughter, my mother, Allise was taken in by a couple from Canada, Irene and Ernest Geyer. They were show business people. They never adopted her. She had nannies growing up. They ended up retiring in Swanville, Maine. Allise was not a very nice natured person. Quite miserable actually. I am wondering if she carried the bitterness and anger with her of being the only child put up for adoption. Can't seem to find anything about her birth record or the other children's births.

Cemetery in Benton, Saline County, Arkansas (This is my home town):

I am looking for info about my grandparents. I never met them but their child, Allise Payne, was my mother. I believe they had other children; Mary Francis and Paul. I believe Nora had been married before for she has a son, Robert Trafford. She could have either been married before or had him while single. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. I am Julian's great grand daughter. I never met him. His and Nora's child, Allise, was put into an orphanage. I am Allise's youngest daughter. I never met Nora. I would like to know more about Julian, Nora, and their siblings. I know there was a Paul and a Mary Francis. I've only seen one picture of Julian. Never saw any of Nora.

Thanks. I am still on here and I have all of the information that you provided but I appreciate it. The 1900 census says that James was born Dec 1853 in TN. The 1910 census says that he is 50 and was born in KY. The 1920 census says that he is 59 and was born in KY. His death certificate says he was born 9/8/1861. His marraige bond dated 3/7/1892 gives his age as 32. I have located a burial plot in the Salem Cemetery in East End next to one for his youngest son, Talmidge, that has no marker. I believe this to be the burial place for both he and Lottie since both of their death certificates give the place of burial as Salem Cemetery and the directions that I cited in the previous posting appear to be incorrect. I still have not located his parents and I still suspect that he may have had an earlier family. Thanks again.

I'm not sure if your still on here but James JOhn Thomas HUghes married Charlotte (Lottie) Jane Cole on March 7 1892 in Pulaski co Ark. James parents were born in Tennessee. James was born in KY Dec 1854 and died Apr 17 1926 and Burried in Salem cemetery in Saline Co Arkansas. Hope that helps .

I'm looking for information on my GGGrandfather, Dolphin (Aldolphus,Dolph) Deloney (Delony) all the ways I have seen it spelled. As far as I know he was born and died in Howard County, Arkansas. Born abt 1850-1857, died in 1925, was married three times, 1st wife, Alice, 2nd wife, Pattie Crofton and 3rd wife Rosetta Trotter. Seeking any and all information on him and his family, such as parents, siblings. I would like know he had been a slave or not.

The lady there does research for donations to keep the doors of the museum open. It is not the same county,true, but she works the whole state and does it quite well.
Are you sure it is Weeks and I have heard of Wickes, but never Weeks?

Try the Arkansas Death Records and see if by accident she died in 1914 or 1915.
If you are in Arkansas, go to your local library and see what they have.
If you need someone to research it, I can suggest a lady to do that. She works for donations to the Lonoke County Museum which sits in Lonoke County, east of Pulaski County.

James Wesley Hollingsworth and Pamelia Caroline Watson are my direct-line ancestors. I'm away from my files at the moment but my grandmother (maiden name Hollingsworth) told me that "JW" died in jail while awaiting trial on charges stemming from a dispute over payment for some woodworking he did for someone else. I can't recall now whether the story is that he committed suicide in his cell, or if there was some sort of altercation that led to his death. I'll try to dig out my notes and see -- but it will be a while before I have time to do so.

Do you by chance also have info on Epaphroditus Theopolis Kendall Sr 1790-1836? He married Anna Terry, dau of John S Terry. Selected data show E T Kendall m.(1) unknown who d.1832 m.(2) Anna Terry 1833. E T had 2 sons/3 daus by 1st wife and 2 daus/1 son (E T Kendall Jr) by Anna Terry. Any info on these Kendalls that you may have, I would really appreciate knowing of. I'd like to learn of 1st wife and more on the children. Yes, her name was Minnie Florence Hudson, born 12 Jul 1886 in Cape Fair, Missouri, died 27 Jun 1983 in Tulsa, OK. She married Elijah Franklin Hilton in 1908. They divorced sometime after 1930. I don't know when she and Noah married, but they were only married for about 3 years. I have a couple of pictures I'd be glad to share with you by regular email - I'm at gdooley1124@cox.net.
